David was raised secular and grew up in a very liberal area. Now having raised two daughters in the American "Bible Belt" region, he has witnessed the importance of standing up for the separation of church and state, the "sanctity" of science education, and the freedom of speech and "belief".
He started his video podcast, Atheist Hangouts, to help educate and promote the secular community. His show covers topics that range from nontheism and evolution to equality and activism. David also is currently a correspondent for American Atheists, board member for the Florida Humanists Association, and founder of the North Florida Atheists.
